Today I travelled to Helsinki, at a time that was far too early to be up and about! I arrived around noon at Helsinki Airport and was picked up by my cousin by car. For anyone who has to make it on their own from the airport to the Hoas Service Center dormitory, here is a little advice: store your luggage at the main train station in Helsinki, so you won't have to carry it around with you to and from the Hoas Office. I was expecting a never-ending queue but was pleasantly surprised, when we were basically the only ones there. Apparently most students do not arrive in Helsinki until the beginning of September. So for those of you who want to spare themselves the trouble of standing in line all day after a morning of travel, book a flight in August! Do you want to know what's awesome? They even give you a sim card for you cell phone, when you receive your keys. So, no need to go out and buy one. I just like how very thoughtful they are.
When I got to the apartment and was welcomed by my new roommates, a girl from Russia and one from Korea, the first thing I was told, was not to forget the key in my room. Apparently the room doors lock themselves automatically, if shut. Imagine my room mates unpleasant surprise when she left the shower to find her door shut. No cell phone. No room mates to ask for help. Barely dressed...and all that after an eternity of travel. Sounds like a nightmare. Not to mention it costs quite a lot to have the door opened again...
I spent the rest of the day unpacking, did some shopping for groceries and other necessities, and went for a walk in the park nearby, which is really beautiful by the way.
But why am I still talking...doesn't a picture say more that a thousand words or something like that?

Alright, this is it for today. Tomorrow, I'll have one more day before the Welcome Fair of the University starts...and then the fun begins. Sleep tight, and don't let the bed bugs bite you.
